Hello all. More of a restoration question than a building question… I’ve got an old Prem kit with the black painted wood hoops, and the paint is in a pretty disastrous state. I’ve sanded one of them back to the wood finish on the outside, which took flippin’ hours, but the inside is proving a pain to do. I’m just using some “paint stripping” sandpaper to do it manually – is there an easy way to do this that I’m missing? I’ve got one of those detail sanders, but doing the inside of the hoop I can imagine isn’t going to work well….

Also, rather than painting it, I’m thinking I can just finish them in a clear varnish or similar. Any suggestions as to what to use?
