I have the option of buying a new kit with either of the above. I already have an 18, 22 and 28! I’m leaning more towards to the 20 if I’m honest but I thought I’d see what people thought. Many thanks.

I’ve only ever had one 24″ bass drum on my old Granstar. Was a beast, but I would go for the 20″. I’ve just built a 20×16 to give me another option to my 22×13 and it sounds great.

I do like a 24,13,16 set up myself. I do a fair amount club and kit share gigs and have to use a 20,12,14 set up and generally have to mic the kick. 20 is handier, 24 is nicer imo.

24 is a beauty. But also a nightmare sometimes in the back of a car. 20 Is great, nice punch and attach. Thats why I try stick with ol faithful 22 🙂

My first proper kit was a knackered old imperialstar with a 24. Since then I’ve only ever had 22s. Getting old now (36) and can’t be arsed dragging loads of kit around, so I’d quite like a 20.

    But…….

There’s a resonator kit that’s begging me to buy it. 24/13/14/16/18. Huge. It really wants to come to my house. I keep looking at it but I know I won’t be allowed it.
